Andy Studer is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, arranger, and performer. He has written and recorded for a wide variety of projects over the years, such as violin for Haley Kiyoko’s hit “Sleepover.” He has worked directly with artists such as Yuna, Baths, Robin Hannibal (Rhye), Yore, and Kevin Olusola (Pentatonix), known for his improvisational approaches in the studio to writing and recording.

Born to two musician parents (Mari Iijima and James Studer), Andy found his voice with music and the violin early on, and eventually graduated the California Institute of the Arts with a BFA Performer/Composer degree. As a teacher of music, he has taught hundreds of students, and has worked to receive his Suzuki certification in 2022.

He currently serves as assistant principal to the LLS Orchestra in Los Angeles, and writes/records original songs as Motoi.
